Sponsorship policy
Guide the Vote accepts sponsorship to keep the site free and to fund translation, print materials, and community outreach. Sponsorship never buys influence over what we publish.
The firewall
- No editorial review. Sponsors do not review, approve, or edit our explainers, candidate profiles, district maps, or corrections.
- No advance access. Sponsors do not see coverage before it is published.
- No candidate coverage tradeoffs. A sponsor cannot secure more or better placement for a candidate.
- No political ads. We do not run political advertising, and we do not accept sponsorship from candidates, campaigns, political parties, or PACs.
- No alcohol-affiliated sponsors. Alcohol-related sponsorships are never accepted or displayed. This rule is enforced in our public database.
Disclosure
Every sponsor and partner appears publicly on the Partners page. Each entry carries written disclosure language. Where a partner is a party to litigation or advocacy relevant to what we cover, that is disclosed too. Partners without written disclosure language are not published — that is enforced at the database level.
Become a sponsor
Organizations interested in sponsoring can use the partnership inquiry form. We'll walk through the disclosure language before anything is published.
